The prestigious VR ceremony returns with a live in-person event in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
For the past six years, the Academy of International Extended Reality (AIXR) has been recognizing incredible ground-breaking milestones in the VR industry with its annual VR Awards. Past winners have included hardware such as the Meta Quest 2 headset, social media influencers like Thrillseeker, and VR experiences including ILMxLAB’s Secrets of the Empire and Wolves in the Walls from Fable Studio.
This year’s awards promise to be even bigger. Schell Games’ I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy And The Liar’, Armature Studio’s critically-acclaimed Resident Evil 4 VR, and Ramen VR’s Zenith: The Last City are just a few of the finalists looking to walk away with the top spot. Meanwhile, the Pico Neo3 Link, Varjo Aero, and VIVE Flow will be duking it out for the title of VR Hardware of the Year 2022 along with non-headset nominees like the Maestro DK3.
This year, the VR Awards returns as a live in-person event in collaboration with Immersive Tech Week (ITW) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands at the de Doelen concert hall on December 1st. This partnership will allow both ITW and The VR Awards the unique opportunity to expand their reach in the global immersive community.
With that said, let’s just dive into this year’s finalists!
You can also find the list of finalists on the VR Awards website.

Hello, my name is Bobby Carlton. When I'm not exploring the world of immersive technology, I'm writing rock songs about lost love. I'd also like to mention that I can do 25 push-ups in a row.
