The lab, known as Cure c 3D, will assist surgeons and clinicians in developing 3D models of complex clinical cases for patient education, surgical treatment planning, and the creation of patient-specific jigs and other medical devices that will enable accurate & safe surgical interventions, such as those in complex spinal deformities
Aakash Healthcare has established a 3D printing facility in its Dwarka headquarters. The lab, known as Cure c 3D, will assist surgeons and clinicians in developing 3D models of complex clinical cases for patient education, surgical treatment planning, and the creation of patient-specific jigs and other medical devices that will enable accurate & safe surgical interventions, such as those in complex spinal deformities.
The lab has a cutting-edge Polyjet printer called the STRATASYS J5 that can create models in several colours and materials. The 3D printing technology will produce quality models for patient education, resident lectures, and in vitro/outside OT practice of complex surgeries.
“Three-dimensional printing is becoming important in the healthcare industry day by day. For example in orthopaedics, it contributes primarily to preoperative planning, surgical guidance, individualised implants, and customised prostheses. The healthcare sector has always been in dire need of cutting-edge solutions. With an increase in digitalization, Aakash Hospital is proud to launch a three-dimensional lab for encouraging the creation of novel products by bridging the gap between medical specialists and engineers; it will contribute to educating patients and introduce advancements in the premises,” said Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director, Aakash Healthcare, Dwarka.
